Abandoned? Never!

Although its probably felt like it! So apologies for not posting for so long! Do I still own FC316? Is the restoration abandoned? Well yes and no. In tat yes she's still mine and no I haven't given up on the resto! Basically life just got in the way for a while. I changed job, moved house, thenchanged job again! So it's been hectic!

I've now got a little more time and a lot more spare cash so th resto moves on apace! So what's happened recently? Well a friend of mine, Bernard, and I have been cutting out the old and letting new metal into the shell. So far the passenger side has been focused on with new floor, sills, lower a post and a complete rear inner and outer wing panels! Almost all Stanpart original panels!

Today I've cut out the heel board and rear seat deck as it was really rusty and perforated and cut a replacement to fit (I cut a good panel from a scrap Spitfire 1500 as these panels didn't change in the entire 18 year production run!)

So next week this will be welded in place and hopefully the drivers side floor will be in place with the lower A post repair. With a fair wind I might be able to get all the welding/new panels in place by Spring and hen set about prepping her for painting. I'll post some photos of progress for row.
